Bath is making a name for itself in the digital sector with the city hosting an increasing amount of technology companies and Forbes describing the tech sector in Bath as “booming” and one of the fastest growing in Europe.
As such, it comes as no surprise that Bath has held its own Digital Festival (three years running now!) – a 10 day digital bonanza geared towards anyone with an interest in technology, with a plethora of events available for all ages and skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced.
Every year the festival takes on a new theme and this year’s theme was ‘Digital for Good’, and ‘Digital for Bad’. The world of technology has done wonders for mankind but, in the words of Peter Parker (actually, Uncle Ben), “with great power comes great responsibility”. Like anything with power, digital can be used to do great things but in the wrong hands it can also lead to harm and destruction.
We were fortunate to be able to attend a few events, including practical talks from experts in the industry to participating in a hackathon! We’ll be writing about the events we attended in the next series of blogs, including:
No matter how long you’ve been working in an industry there’s always more to learn. The events we attended at the festival gave us better insight on how to be better developers, designers, and marketers and we’re excited to put these skills into practice!
